PJSC “Khimproekt” won an international tender for the implementation of an innovative green ammonium project in Estonia

Kyiv. The Ukrainian company PJSC “Khimproekt” won the tender held by the Estonian company OÜ Derivaat NH3 for the engineering of the green ammonium project . This is the world’s first innovative project with the integration of SOEC solid oxide electrolysis into the technological scheme of ammonium production.
The project is implemented in the port of Paldiski, Estonia. Productivity 22.5 thousand tons/year of green ammonia. For this purpose, 4 thousand tons/year of green hydrogen will be produced. The launch of the plant is planned for 2026. The technology for the production of green ammonia was developed by the company HTK LLC – Chemical Technological Company. Designing and preparation for construction is carried out using advanced IT tools in the field of construction management – the CLS (Construction Logistics Software) system . A BIM model of the installation was created, a preliminary budget and a target construction schedule for the project were formed. With the help of tools of the CLS system, work is carried out with manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, the scope of construction and installation works of subcontractors is determined.
Head of LLC “HTK” Leonid Rodin: “In this project, we used our many years of experience in the development and design of traditional ammonia production, developed innovative solutions for the combined scheme of ammonia synthesis and hydrogen production by SOEC solid oxide electrolysis. As a result, maximum energy efficiency and 100% carbon-free production were achieved ammonia”.
Head of PJSC “Khimproekt” Oleksandr Karaschuk: “Thanks to the CLS system, we have created a complete virtual model of the plant construction process. This makes it possible to control all technical solutions, project documentation, material and financial flows of construction. We are sure that the green ammonia plant in Paldiska will implemented in the planned period and in full”.
OÜ Derivaat NH3 board member Erik Laidvee: “Our project is an important step towards the development of green energy and contributes to the strengthening of relations between Ukraine and Estonia. It is important to note that we have created new opportunities for innovation and sustainable development of clean ammonia technology thanks to what we have submitted the application for a patent and the application to the Innovation Fund of the European Union. The contract will enter into force after we inform PrJSC “Chemoproekt” that the financing of the plant is secured and/or the supervisory board confirms the financial closure of the plant construction project.
